Growth Mindset around being a Business Owner
Duncan will be using the ActionCOACH Identity Iceberg model to illustrate how an individual’s true potential is often hidden beneath the surface, similar to an iceberg.
The visible part above the water represents behaviour and results, while the larger, unseen portion below represents their skills, beliefs, values, identity and environment.
By understanding and reshaping these foundational elements, individuals can drive sustainable change and achieve greater success. This talk will explore techniques to delve deeper into one’s identity, align personal and professional goals, and unlock hidden capabilities to propel growth and transformation.
About the speaker:
Duncan McKechnie spent over 20 years in the South African Air Force as a helicopter pilot, flight instructor and senior officer, where he honed his leadership skills and developed a no-nonsense, yet supportive coaching style. Duncan had the honour of flying Nelson Mandela and learned many valuable lessons from him that he applies in his coaching today. After leaving the Air Force, he worked in Corporate Aerospace and Defence for 14 years before joining ActionCOACH, drawn by their proven methodologies, to support community and business growth in the South West.
