You have identified potential new employees and invited them to come for an interview. The interview is the opportunity for you to both find out more about each other. As employer you will find out more about the person, their skills, attitudes and behaviours and whether they are right for your business. But remember the candidate will be assessing you and your business and whether it is right for them!
To help you identify the right person, you will need to ask the right questions and know what to look for in candidates.
In this session we will look at planning an interview and the legal compliance that you need to be aware of.

- Setting questions to prompt responses to identify the right candidate.
- Rating candidates fairly. Unconscious Bias.
- Putting candidates at their ease.
Legal considerations when hiring and interviewing including receiving and storing information. Employment rights, when and how do they kick in and how long are applicants protected.
