A live online event hosted by Julian Wright from our Access To Finance Team and supported by “The Listening Accountant” Liz McCormick of McCormick Accounting Ltd.

WSX Enterprise Ltd have tried to get a group of businesses together to just talk about finance for a couple of years now, but despite some great venues and some encouraging feedback we’ve always failed to gather a crowd large enough to make it sustainable. Business owner sentiment seemed to be that while we ought to know more about finance, it probably isn’t that important right now.

In these difficult and uncertain times we think things have now changed. So, if you are an existing small business with ambitions to survive the present challenges and prosper in the future then this event may be for you.

Our aim is to support business owners who lack financial confidence to gain know-how, be introduced to financial concepts, and get better acquainted with financial terminology. Follow up from these events may be a specific 121 session with a member of the Busienss Hothouse Access to Finance team or a self-commitment to engage and challenge your existing business financial professional.

What will be covered?

We have a few areas that we plan to cover but in the short term “It’s all about the cash!” so we’ll look at business mantras and why cash is so important, cash preservation ideas, starting points for cash forecasting, and introduce the concept of bootstrapping. We’ll basically provide 45 minutes of useful information in this session……and provide further sessions in future weeks with more content.

The focus of the event will be on information provision and hence while chat will be open we don’t propose on using this as a Q&A forum as we understand that financial matters are often sensitive and confidential. Hence, further support on a 121 basis may be available from the Busienss Hothouse Access to Finance team on request.
